The best dates for Qatari travellers: Eid, summer and National Day
When Doha passes 45 degrees in July and August, Tbilisi is at about 31 to 34, Batumi 27 to 29, and Kazbegi 18 to 22. Qatar's school holiday, roughly late June to late August, is when families stay one to two weeks, and the car earns a 5% discount from seven days and 10% from fourteen. Book the Eid weeks four to six weeks ahead, still with no deposit. National Day on 18 December with the winter break gives five days of snow in Gudauri or Bakuriani, usually from mid-December to March. We do not name hotels, because our list changes with availability; the spread of nights makes the trip. In summer: three nights in Tbilisi, one or two in Kazbegi or Gudauri, two or three in Batumi or in Bakuriani and Borjomi, and a last night in Tbilisi for shopping. Tbilisi to Kazbegi is about 156 km, to Batumi 370 km; in winter Bakuriani replaces Batumi.
