Do You Need a Visa for Georgia? Entry Guide for Gulf and Arab Travellers

2026-09-23

Do I need a visa for Georgia? The short answer: citizens of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman enter visa-free; other Arab nationals with a valid Gulf residence permit enter visa-free for up to 90 days; everyone else applies for the Georgian e-visa on the official portal, evisa.gov.ge. No prepayment: you pay on arrival in Georgia.

Rules change: what follows applied at the time of writing, last checked in September 2026. The official portal evisa.gov.ge is the only authority on rules and fees, and the border officer makes the final decision; we are a licensed tour operator, not a government body, and cannot guarantee entry. We make everything after the border easy: a private car with an Arabic- or English-speaking driver, booked on WhatsApp with no deposit. Georgia visa for Saudi and UAE citizens and the rest of the GCC

Citizens of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman need only a valid passport and are admitted for up to one year. You land at Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi airport, roughly three to four hours from the Gulf, get your stamp and find our driver waiting with a name sign. Keep a return ticket, our WhatsApp confirmation and proof of funds handy in case the officer asks. Saudi, Emirati and Kuwaiti travellers each have their own page with flights and costs in their currency: Georgia for Saudi Travellers 2026: Visa, Flights and Costs in Riyals, Georgia for UAE Residents and Citizens: Visa and AED Costs and Georgia for Kuwaiti Travellers 2026: Visa, Flights and Costs in KWD.

Arab residents of the Gulf: a valid residence permit is enough

This is the most common case among our guests from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, Yemen and Palestine in the Gulf. At the time of writing, a holder of a valid GCC residence permit enters visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, whatever their passport, provided the permit is valid on entry and shown at the border; the other permits in the table work the same way. Travel with the original, valid card: an expired permit, one under renewal and not yet printed, or a photo on the phone can all mean refusal at the border.

Georgia e-visa for Egyptians, Jordanians and other Arab passports

With a passport from the last row of the table and no such permit, the route is the e-visa. Apply on evisa.gov.ge: fill in the form, upload your passport scan, a photo, proof of accommodation and your ticket, pay the fee shown on the portal, and wait for the decision, usually about five working days; a Georgian embassy is the alternative. Apply at least two weeks ahead, print the approval, and do not buy a non-refundable ticket before approval. The e-visa gets you to the border; it does not guarantee entry.

Is there a visa on arrival in Georgia?

A Georgia visa on arrival was not, at the time of writing, the established route for Arab passports that need a visa; the routes are the e-visa and the embassy. Do not count on one at the airport; the airline may refuse boarding. Check evisa.gov.ge before buying a ticket; no tour company can promise entry.

Arabs of the interior and Palestinians: two different cases

Holders of an Israeli passport from the Arab interior enter visa-free for up to a year. They fly from Ben Gurion airport to Tbilisi in about two and a half hours, in summer directly to Batumi, and our Arabic-speaking driver waits with a name sign. Holders of a Palestinian Authority passport are different: with a valid Gulf residence permit the 90-day rule applies; without one, visa requirements must be checked with the Georgian embassy before travel, and we cannot confirm any exemption. The full journey is in Georgia for Palestinians and the Arabs of the Interior: Arabic-Speaking Driver, No Prepayment.

Documents to have ready at the border

  • A passport valid for the whole stay plus a margin.
  • A separate passport for each child, whatever their age.
  • The original valid residence card, or the printed e-visa approval.
  • A return or onward ticket.
  • Proof of accommodation: a hotel booking or our WhatsApp confirmation.
  • Proof of funds, if asked.
  • Travel insurance: not mandatory, but strongly advised.

After the stamp, our driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign; see Tbilisi Airport Transfer with an Arabic-Speaking Driver (Kutaisi and Batumi too).

After the visa: what does the trip itself cost?

The car with driver is priced per day for the whole car, not per person: sedan 85 USD a day for up to three passengers, minivan 100 USD for six, van 140 USD for eight, Sprinter 240 USD for twenty, with 5% off from seven days and 10% from fourteen. Two examples: a sedan for seven days costs 565 USD after the discount, a minivan 665 USD, enough for a programme like Georgia 7 Day Tour - Tbilisi, Kazbegi and Batumi. Hotels are optional. Work out the cost of your trip, read the terms page, and see Money and Daily Spending in Georgia: How Much You Need for daily spending.
