Trip Itinerary

1. Day 1: The day | The Alazani plain, Bodbe and the walls of Sighnaghi

   Nine in the morning, departure from your Tbilisi hotel on the eastern Kakheti road, flat and comfortable for children. After about an hour and a half, a stop in a Kakhetian village at a country bakery to watch shoti bread come out of the round clay oven, and to buy churchkhela made of grape juice and walnuts. We reach the Bodbe convent among the cypresses and walk its gardens over the plain for about forty minutes. Then Sighnaghi: we enter through the stone gate and walk on the wall that runs over the hills, climbing one of its towers to see the Alazani plain and the white Caucasus peaks behind it. Free time in the small square, its cobbled streets and coloured houses, then lunch in a family restaurant serving grilled Kakhetian dishes, vegetables and local cheese. Before returning, a stop at the view of the town from the upper road for the group photo. Back in Tbilisi between six and seven in the evening.
