Overview

The Borjomi and Bakuriani day tour from Tbilisi is the classic family day west of the capital: Borjomi's central park and its warm mineral spring that people drink straight from the tap, then the twenty-kilometre climb through pine forests to Bakuriani, the resort children love in winter for sledging and the small cable car and in summer for horses and quiet walking trails. Borjomi is about two and a half hours from Tbilisi, Bakuriani half an hour further. In winter the snow season generally begins at the start of December and the lifts usually open in its second half; we never promise snow on a date. The little train between Borjomi and Bakuriani is an optional one-of-a-kind experience expected back from December 2026, booked if it is running. The price is for the whole car, not per person, and covers the driver, fuel and road costs; it changes with the season and is confirmed on WhatsApp before booking. Trip Itinerary

1. Day 1: The day | Borjomi park and its spring, then the Bakuriani forests

   Nine in the morning, departure from your Tbilisi hotel westwards on the highway, with a short coffee stop halfway. We reach Borjomi before noon and enter the central park: the river bridge, the spring pavilion where the warm mineral water pours out and everyone fills their cups, the small cable car up to the park's plateau with its Ferris wheel, and for those who wish an easy walk along the river towards the sulphur pools. Lunch in Borjomi from the Georgian kitchen, then the thirty-minute climb through pine forests to Bakuriani at about seventeen hundred metres. In winter, time for sledging on the family slope and a ride on the lift if it is running; the rest of the year a horse ride or a walk on the forest trail and coffee in the town square. In the late afternoon we return the same way, reaching the hotel between seven and eight in the evening.
