Overview

The Batumi countryside day tour is the day of adventure and nature behind the city: the Turkish border to the south with the ancient Roman fortress of Gonio, then east up the river valley to the meeting of the rivers where the dark Chorokhi water joins the pale Adjaristsqali, the thundering Makhuntseti waterfall with Queen Tamar's arched stone bridge beside it, the activity area by the river with quad bikes, ziplines, rafting, karting, horses and shooting, and the village of Mirveti with its small waterfall among the trees. All within an hour of Batumi, so the car leaves from your hotel in the morning and returns in the evening, and the tour costs the ordinary day rate. The price is for the whole car, not per person, and covers the driver, fuel and road costs; it changes with the season and is confirmed on WhatsApp before booking. Entry tickets, cable cars and meals are paid on the spot. The activities by the river are paid on the spot as you wish: mountain quad-bike safari, a short and a long zipline, rafting on the Makhuntseti river for four to six kilometres, a fifteen-minute karting session, horse rides, target shooting, and natural honey from the villagers. Trip Itinerary

  1. Day 1: The day | Gonio and the border, then the Makhuntseti valley and its activities

Nine in the morning, departure from your hotel south along the coast road. A first stop, for those who wish, for a Turkish breakfast at a restaurant by the border (optional), then the Roman fortress of Gonio with its standing walls, towers and inner garden, about forty minutes to walk the wall. We head back north and turn east into the river valley: a short stop at the meeting of the rivers where the two colours of water can be seen with the naked eye, then the Makhuntseti waterfall, reached on foot among the rocks, and a few steps away Queen Tamar's stone bridge, still crossed on foot. Next the activity area on the riverbank: here everyone chooses what they like, the quad bikes on the muddy track, the short zipline then the long one over the river, rafting for those who love the water, or karting, horses and shooting, while anyone wanting quiet stays by the river with a glass of tea. Lunch in a country restaurant on the water from the Adjaran kitchen. In the late afternoon we continue to the village of Mirveti and walk ten minutes among the trees to its small waterfall, then back to Batumi, reaching the hotel around six in the evening.
