This 8 day Georgia tour runs west in a single line — Tbilisi, then Kutaisi, then Batumi — with only three hotel bases and no doubling back. It suits travellers who already know Tbilisi and Batumi and now want everything in between, and anyone who prefers caves and river canyons to high mountain passes. Trip Itinerary

  1. اليوم 1: Day One | Arrival in Tbilisi and a first evening in the Old Town

    Your driver meets you at Tbilisi International Airport; the city centre is about 17 kilometres away, roughly twenty minutes. After check-in and a rest we take a short, unhurried evening walk: the Bridge of Peace over the Mtkvari river, Rike Park on the opposite bank, then the lanes of Meidan with their carved wooden balconies and cafes open late. Dinner is Georgian grills and khachapuri, and over it your driver walks you through the eight-day map: where you sleep, what time you leave each morning, and how long each transfer takes.

  2. اليوم 2: Day Two | Old Tbilisi from Narikala to Mtatsminda

    We ride the cable car from Rike Park up to Narikala fortress for the view over the city rooftops, then walk down into Abanotubani with its brick domes over the sulphur baths, and on to the Leghvtakhevi waterfall hidden inside the gorge. Next come Sioni church, Kote Abkhazi street and the Meidan bazaar, then the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Sameba. The afternoon covers Rustaveli Avenue and Freedom Square, and the day ends on the funicular from Chonkadze street up Mtatsminda to watch the sun set over the whole of Tbilisi.

  3. اليوم 3: Day Three | Mtskheta, Jvari and the Chronicle of Georgia

    Twenty kilometres north-west of Tbilisi lies Mtskheta, the old capital. We climb first to Jvari Monastery on its hill to look down on the meeting of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, each a different colour, then descend to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral inside the walls. On the way back we stop at the Chronicle of Georgia above the Tbilisi Sea, a row of huge bronze pillars carved with the country's history. The rest of the day is open for shopping in the city malls or resting before tomorrow's move west.

  4. اليوم 4: Day Four | West to Kutaisi by way of Uplistsikhe

    We leave Tbilisi in the morning heading west on the highway. The first stop, about ninety minutes out, is Uplistsikhe near Gori: an entire town carved into rock above the Mtkvari, with halls, passages and a cut theatre — wear comfortable shoes for the uneven stone. We continue through the Rikoti pass and its new tunnels to Kutaisi, around 230 kilometres in total. In the evening we stroll around the Colchis Fountain on the central square and the White Bridge over the Rioni, then settle in for two nights in Kutaisi.

  5. اليوم 5: Day Five | Imereti's monasteries and Prometheus Cave

    A full day around Kutaisi. We start at Gelati Monastery, a UNESCO site, for its mosaics and painted walls, then small Motsameta perched above a bend of the Tskaltsitela river. After lunch we drive to Kumistavi village to enter Prometheus Cave: a long walk between stalactites and stalagmites under coloured lighting, at a steady underground chill, so bring a light jacket even in summer. We return to the city for Bagrati Cathedral on Ukimerioni hill before sunset.

  6. اليوم 6: Day Six | Martvili Canyon, then down to Batumi

    An early start north-west of Kutaisi to Martvili Canyon in the Samegrelo region: a rubber-boat ride between narrow stone walls hung with ivy, over water of a startling clear green, with hanging walkways and a small waterfall at the end of the trail. After lunch we continue west and then south along the Black Sea coast through Kobuleti to Batumi, about 190 kilometres for the day. The evening brings your first meeting with the boulevard, the moving Ali and Nino statue and the Alphabet Tower.

  7. اليوم 7: Day Seven | The botanical garden and Batumi from above

    In the morning we drive nine kilometres north to the Green Cape and Batumi Botanical Garden, terraced down a slope that looks straight out to sea; the easy downhill route through its Asian and Mediterranean sections takes about two hours. In the afternoon we ride the Argo cable car up Anuria hill to see the city, the port and the Adjara mountains in a single frame, then come down to the northern end of the boulevard with its ferris wheel and dolphinarium for families. The evening is Piazza square, Europe Square, the Medea statue and dinner by the sea.

  8. اليوم 8: Day Eight | A last Batumi morning and departure

    A calm morning shaped by your flight time: coffee on the boulevard and a last walk along the seafront, or a run through the central market for gifts — mountain honey, spices and Adjarian tea. Batumi airport sits only about six kilometres south of the city, so the goodbye is unhurried and there is no need to leave the hotel at dawn.
